Calypso
Calypso is a nymph and daughter of the Titan Atlas, best known for her role in Homer’s Odyssey. She resides on the enchanting island of Ogygia, where she detains the Greek hero Odysseus for seven years, offering him immortality if he stays. Though deeply in love with him, Calypso ultimately releases Odysseus by order of the gods, showcasing her tragic, unrequited devotion. She represents themes of isolation, temptation, and the bittersweet nature of love.
