Vellamo And The Magic Cows Framed Print

£30.80

This one was inspired by one of my favorite Finnish myths. Cows were sacred animals of Vellamo the sea goddess. During summer mornings, during the mist, she came to the shore with her underwater cattle, and let her cows roam freely in the woods and the shore. If these cows got mixed with the ”land-cows”, she usually let the human owners keep the cow (she was a nice goddess that way), and the cows of Vellamo produced a lot of milk and they were seen as great gifts from the goddess.
